Only three days have passed since my last post, yet so much has happened in between. To label them is easy: Friday - class outing, Saturday - Chingay volunteering, Sunday - Heartware Flag Day; but locking the times experienced and people met down into sentences is hard. Nevertheless, here goes.
Friday was a wonderful, wonderful day on the whole. Woke up at 8.50, called Dilys at 9 and found out that we were meeting at Eunos MRT at 10. Naturally, I panicked and left the house by 9.15. In the end, I arrived at Jurong East MRT earlier than Dilys, who had to clean up her dog's poo. HAHA. Talked and drifted over many, many subjects. Wear Ruffles and Lays, eat ruffles and lace, HAHA. We were on time, surprisingly. Ran into 08S06 at Eunos, coincidentally. "Hello Clarissa", "Hello Claire", "Ouch. Wanna fight ah, Yin Wai" HAHA. Waited for a few others to turn up before heading towards Parkway Parade.
At Parkway, Dilys somehow became my 师父, teaching me the art of poking someone's cheek from the side. 而因为她教导有方, I managed to pull that trick off on Jie Ling, Clarice, Melinda, Sheng Hui and even 师父 herself, thus far haha. Our (empty) stomachs then led us to Pasta Mania. Foreign accents were the soup of the day. We were served up a chance run-in with Bryan Wong and Quan Yi Fong as well. We created a new friend as well, out of spaghetti hair, broccoli eyes and tomato lipstick. After lunch, Clarice and I worked off some of the calories by "pummeling" each other up, though the real casualty was Dilys, who kept laughing and laughing while witnessing it. That girl's laugh is hilarious. Then, as it was approaching afternoon, we quickly left for East Coast Park.
It was nearing 1 when we reached ECP. Blazing, hot, scorching, the stuff of dragon's fire, yeah the sun. They wanted to cycle, feel the tendrils of wind lash across their faces. I did too, and despite not knowing how to cycle, I rented a bike anyway. What happened next really made me love 08S11 alot alot more. They all tried to teach how to ride, offering all kinds of advice and tips- keep your body straight, just keep pedalling, don't look down, fix your eyes on a faraway object ecetera- and even though, I was so slow in absorbing and incorporating what they said, they didn't mind and waited for me, instead of going off and pedalling to their hearts' content. AAAHHH. I felt super guilty, as you can imagine, but touched at the same time too. 08S11! I'm especially grateful to North and Jonathan as well. For one hour, North tried teaching me, to the extent of pushing my bike when I'm so heavy haha, balancing the handlebars, running along and keeping pace with the bike, and the nicest thing is that he didn't complain, even when I ran over his foot or simply took up time that he could be enjoying. He was really encouraging and patient too. "Got speed, got CG!". "Speed helps CG but increase casualty!" HAHA. Jonathan helped alot too, simulating CG in motion haha, steadying the bike, dishing out advice and stopping my fall whenever I veered too much to the right (the flowers were simply too attractive hahaha) However, I couldn't master cycling totally in the end because time was limited and the rest wanted to cycle to the jetty, so we got a two-seater bike. (But before that, Clarice and I "reconciled" haha AH HENG AH~~) The first kick-off was DAMN FUNNY HAHA. I'm riding in tandem and yet I'm like heavier than Jonathan, so he was struggling so hard to get the bicycle moving. Then came the turnings HAHA, that was hilarious too hahaha. But the situation improved, as we got used to it. Yeah, it's nice to cycle. Wind in your hair, salt spray in your face, zen in your heart yabadada. Reached the jetty after about 20 minutes. Spent a long time there taking photos (PRAWN CRACKERS! LAYS! TWISTIES! HAHA) and just talking. So yak, yak, yakkity yak and at the end, we returned the bicycles late at 4.30. That wasn't the end ofthe day though. Next on the plate was bowling!
Walked to the nearby Super Bowl after washing up at McDonald's. Dilys kept eating and eating haha. High socks are tres chic! Sheng Hui bought a chocolate ball that looked like shit and tasted like shit too HAHA. Nobody wanted to touch it so we played the very exciting Thumbs Up game. Jonathan's thumbs are abnormally long. Wriggly wriggly HAHA. After one game, we decided to go to town to lunh. On the way to the bus-stop, I, while cheek-poking her, indirectly caused Sheng Hui to violate North HAHAHA. Then, Melinda had calf cramps so she had a Thai massage, literally, by North haha. Anyway, hopped onto 31, and 黑白配,男生女生配ed with AH HENG AH~; chopped chilli with AH HENG AH~, Dilys, Melinda, Audrey and Sheng Hui and had alot of fun posing "emo"ly heheh. Suntec City soon beckoned however, and we rushed to Food Republic to stuff our faces.
Dinner was, well, damn fun as well. OH MY GOSH, WHATEVER MAN, DOTDOTDOT (...), 三条线 (|||), YOUR MOTHER WORKS AT MCDONALD'S SELLING MCWINGS, W-O-W! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA. Dilys, Clarice and I couldn't stop laughing after we upgraded that stupid phrase with actions HAHAHAHA. Such stupid fun really HAHA. Clarice and I then tried convincing the rest that the Japanese store gave us free green tea because we were too cute. We had to sneak back to the store to collect our food later but unfortunately, the rest discovered us HAHA. Suck away the hot air and blow it to the side~~ HAHA. Shenghui and the mystery of papayas was super funnayeee! (NEH mind. A to B to C. HAHA) There were other moments as well, but I can't recall them now. Oh yes! After dinner, and magic hadoukens to open the washroom door HAHAHA. Oh man oh man, Friday was such a great day! :):) I really like the people in my class man. Hope we can all stay together, arghhhh.
Phew, that was a long recap. Anyway, Saturday was a day to catch up with my ex-classmates from S13! But before that however, were very long and boring talks about Chingay's history and the set-up of this year's parade. The picnic section sounds like a disaster area. It'll be fun though, to be put in the area with 6000 people. Still, I hope US27 won't be put in charge of that section. VVIP! Oh yes, I am an usher. (^_^)v Sing Hui, the girl sitting next to me, was really funny, in the way she was sleeping. She was rolling all over the place HAHA. Went outside the LT for some bonding games. Wen Lin and her "AAAHHH, A COCKROACH!!" forfeit was HIIIILARIOUS~~. HAHA. I think I'm gonna enjoy doing Chingay with this funny funny group. :D
Went out for lunch with Amanda, Xiao Yun, Jia Liu and Fang Hui after the thing ended. It was great talking to them after such a long time. Gossiping about "beloved OGL"s and superficial guys and what not.
Sunday was also part of Chingay volunteering. It was Flag Day for Heartware Network at Yishun. Paired up with Sing Hui and had a fun time, what with her salutes and my half-squats haha. It was interesting to see how people reacted to being ambushed by students with formidable tincans, or in our case, a white donation bag. Did pretty well on the whole so yeah, wasn't that bad. Sing Hui reminded me of Dilys at some parts so I felt super smart when I guessed correctly that she was a Gemini. Whoooo. Went for lunch with US 27 after everything. Gaaaah, the way Susan waxes lyrical about Temasek Poly convinces me that polytechnic is the better route to go. But since I have no clear idea on what I am going to do in future, JC has to be the route for me. Hais.
OKay, that's about it, till another time.
