Tumblr is filled with so many beautiful, hard-hitting and poignant quotes that I can never, for the life of me, hope to spout. It is also stuffed to the brim with wondrous, haunting pictures that grate on your consciousness and howl for your utmost attention. Why are some people just so brilliant? It is such a terrible feeling to be split between fervent admiration and burning self-loathing. Admiration for the literary genius of some, and of course, the purest distillate of loathing for yourself, you who cannot, and will not be able to, emulate the talent of others. I'm not about to break down and whimper at the unfairness of it all. Nah, I'm too lazy for that. So what have I morphed into? Frankly, a copycat. The tumblr system is a wonderfully convenient way to conjure up some street cred. See something quirky? Heart it. Read something that articulates the marquee in your heart, but fleshes it out even more vividly? Reblog it and revel in the hushed awe of the ignorant at your quilted coolness. It is not a thing to be ashamed of; it is a perfectly logical way of life. Nothing in this world is original anyway. What we are is a unique blend of the innovations and inspirations of others. Everyone borrows influence from everyone else, but it is the precise permutation of interests and passions that define us as an individual. So yeah, I'm not a creative or artistic person, but that doesn't mean that I cannot be moved by dolled up landscapes and a beaded chain of pretty words strung together. Therefore, this is a collection of the loveliest quotes and pictures I found on tumblr thus far:
