It has been an eventful few days. Christmas was not that much fun though. But it was never a big deal in the first place, so it did not bother me very much. I watched Australia with my sister that day. It is rare to catch a sweeping epic love story in the present day. Tragedy, romance, sacrifice, villains, these conventional plot markers were included and capitalised on to the max. Nulla was captivating, Drover embodied rougish charm and Fletcher was the worst type of villain ever- the calculative businessman, where money meant everything and who could be counted upon to do anything and everything for profits and power. Add the lush landscapes, big budget for special effects and whizzbangings, exoticism, heavyweight acting and you got a pretty dang good show. The real fun started after Christmas though.

Friday's training was not much fun though. Something in me broke and I realised how much I sucked and how little time I had to improve. This time, the hard facts were laid out bare before me, no excuses about it. I need to come to terms with my current dearth of ability and think of ways to overcome it. I need to overhaul my mindset and attitude if I want to be the dependable and reliable keeper I wish to be. And I need to know how. Most importantly, the verb is not so much as 'need' as 'want'. We all want it. Right? Enough said, let's move along with the times.

Well, on the 26th December, we, the soccer girls, embarked on a food trail. First stop: Island Cremery for some local flavours lovin'. We gobbled up ice-creams and mudpies (or mudcakes as Leena likes to mistake it for) and carried out our Secret Santa gift exchange. It was funny because I never thought that Emily would be my Santa and kept accusing Shiyun of being a lousy actress HAHA. Ah well. Emily! The notebook was beeeyooteefull and I like it very much. Thank you, thank you! :) Yi Tong looked mighty pleased with the Liverpool scarf Leena and I bought for her. Though it was a bit straining on the wallet, her (perpetual) ecstatic grin more than made up for it. Tiffany had a bright spark of an idea and planted a big pink ribbon atop Shiyun's present. How very fitting. :) And that day, I found out that Leena masks her feelings of being touched with repeated antagonistic questions haha.

Next stop: curry chicken at Beach Road. From this point on, our journey did resemble a mini-episode of Makan Places: Lost & Found. Turn left, turn right, we walked and walked, but it wasn't in sight. Alas, when we did find the place, it was shuttered and the signboards advertised Hwang Jin Yi chicken speciality. How odd. Eventually, we settled in a wood-floored, cosy little eatery near Kampong Glam. The food was a tad expensive but the ambience was warm and homely. Shiyun kept playing with Leena's toy crocodile and kept getting snapped HAHA. And when the food arrived, everyone gulped down gallons of juice haha. Stayed there for about an hour before setting off for desert.

Third stop: Chinatown for toast and desert. Emily grew besotted with tang yuans there. Along the way, Shiyun morphed to become our ringleader, our head honcho, our YUN-GE with her beng walk. It was fun too, to chase around the MRT station haha. The toast shop was closed, sadly, so we decided to uh take pictures. Shiyun is a secret camwhore expert haha and we kept going up and down the escalators. But the real masters are Sihui and Tiffany tsk tsk. After that photo-taking spree, we headed to makeshift stalls before heading home. It might not have sounded like much but oh, the barrels of laughter that could have been filled. Of being easily entertained, cheap thrills and fun teasings, heehee.

And then, yesterday was the first day of OGL camp. Had to miss training for that, unfortunately. But the day did turn out for the better. Was in group 5, along with Yi Le, Sue Ann, Laura, Aaron and Letts. A sad showing, compared to the other large groups. Ice-breakers was okay. Cheering session was high. Mass dance was fun, especially with Sheryl as my partner. Lunch came after too long a wait. Then, internal hunt, where we dragged ourselves around the school compound before heading behind the stage haha. Sue Ann and I were the only ones left during station games but we still had a good time. More dancing. The final debrief, then home. Along the way, doing crazyass dance moves with Nithiya and Sheryl, doing crazyass rocker-imitations with both of them again, doing wanna-fight pseudo hiphop poses with Nithiya at the Glory cheer, laughing at Dian Feng's rendition of the Glory cheer, giving exasperated sighs at Yi Le's smug comebacks, drawling about Taiwanese stuff with Sue Ann, found my very adorable primary school bus-mate junior!, laughing at Yi Le's missing of the fun water game before realising that I can't participate in the showdown -.-, mass dancing with Eugene Teo = mini soccer training with energetic arm lockings and sprinting + abs training because of his retardedfunny expressions and movements + hand-crushing spins, dancing with Sheryl (lublub!), laughing at Sean's outright surrender at mass dance, walking out with Ideas people and so on, so forth. The only sore point was that I had to miss training. Sigh. Found many errors in the OGL booklet too, argh. And reminders of homework completion. Major argh. But, we'll see how it goes then..

Time to go for training now. Till another time.
