31st December has finally rolled around. Everybody seems to be compiling a summarative post about 2007 so I thought I might as well jump on the bandwagon.

2007, huh? It is a hard year to describe and a hard one to remember too. All I can recall is these few weeks spent in extragavant, redolent fashion, so much so that I nearly forgot "all" is a singular noun. Whatever happened to my once-precise grammar? I regret for wasting my time away. Anyway, let's start with the big picture..

2007 was a whirlwind, to put it simply. It was homework, tests, revision and studying all the way, from January to October. There was not much time for anything else. The teaches heckled and pickled at us endlessly, for our own good of course. Classmates also kept the presure on by behaving so conscientiously through out. I didn't get serious so early in the year though. It was late June when I buckled down and studied. I regret, however, that I didn't go all-out and max out my 100% though. Still, I was pleasantly surprised when the final prelimary result turned out to be a 9. It was the first time that I straightened out, sombred up and got down to mugging and to be rewarded somewhat, was, well, a great feeling. Lost steam towards the Os though so I'm quite worried about that. But no matter, that is for me to worry about next year.

However, school wasn't entirely a pressure cooker, though Low Ay Nar tried her darndest to stress us out. There were many many events interspersed between the hectic days, such as Netball Breakfast Store + XSA dishwasher, dish wiper and extra haha; Open House + strolling around carefree and weirding out at the extravagance of it all that didn't really do much; Peer Leading (which is quite fun despite all my grumbling) + trying to escape from Ms Wee whenever we saw her coming; Spirit of The Class + 4GR IS VIP + Jasmine teaching us the Balloons dance haha; Sports Day + photo-taking + impromptu rendition of cheer + spontaneous round round the round; Sports Heat + The Raker + crazy Xiaomin, high Zihan and lame Grace; St John's Island + ??; Teachers' Day + lining the corridors leading to the staffroom and singing offtune and loudly; Teachers' Day present + crapping out thank you messages for teachers I didn't like; Racial Harmony Day + looking for costumes at Mustafa + how to wear sari!?; National Day + going into a circle and flying high into the sky + running around the field; Raina's present + making it; schoolday mornings before Os + clasmates + football, shrieking, laughing & evaporation of worries; fangirly obsessions + friday marathons of DBSK + SUJU+ BIG BANG + excited discussions with fellow S4 fans; prom + omgyouaresogorgeous; graduation ceremony + phototaking :DDD + night football; house visits, movies, lunches and breakfasts, class outings (Botanics + Ann's house), and so many others which can only be summoned with a little prod from others. A large part was FOOTBALL la hahaha. I felt that our class came together this year, or at least half of us did, thanks to the reckless romps on the field. Yeah, friends were an integral part of this year. I'm too lazy to elaborate further.

However, although friends were a major part of 2007, I felt the most introverted this year. No thanks to Os, as I went home straight from school to commence 6-hour study sessions. I don't really believe in study groups, or at least it doesn't work for me. That is not to say, I was lonely, instead, it was more like I withdrew into my own world, thinking about anime, jdoramas, korean romcoms, taiwanese idol dramas and the like. Of course, sometimes I was left behind but I didn't really care because I had other things to ruminate on. I guess it's sad, to invest so much in fictional characters and ignore the living breathing around me. Guess I embraced my inner freak too much that it consumed me. I iz losaar. Still, it was bad, because I drifted away from friends and blunted my conversational skills. I am a socially-inept geek now. But seriously, I'd gladly skip the vapid gossip for an episode of say, Nobuta wo Produce. At least the characters there are likable all the time. Resolution #1: Stop criticizing people internally. It's the first step to becoming a hypocrite.

Well, what else about 2007? Hmm it was the year of the movies/films, just as 2006 was the year of the music. Watched at least 80 movies/films this year, which works out to about 1 show every 5 days. There were some wonderful finds such as Me, You & Everyone We Know, The Science of Sleep, Eternal Summer, Eternal Sunshine and terrible flops (to me) like 4.6 Billion Years of Love, Curse of The Golden Flower. Maybe this is a phase, I don't know, but I'm definitely going to continue with them. I wouldn't give up a chance to escape from my existence and into a tumultuous world, filled with the surreal and the imaginative, a welcome breather, a breath of fresh air, spring chicken meat!, but somehow, things will end in a way that makes you wiser, wistfully happier, better off than you were in the first place and things are neatly tied up within 120 minutes and you are left drunk, with a smile or a look of brooding, perhaps better equipped to deal with the problems of your own life as the characters on screen head off to their own calculated, resolved ending. Resolution #2: Stop being a daydreaming escapist.

Okay, that was a really brief summary of 2007. I don't really need to do this, I just realized. After all, I have all my other entries to fall back on. A year can't be described in one post. Add that my brain is not wired for philosophy and nostalgia now. I is not making sense hmm. Hokay then I shall go off for some Code Geass now. OH and did you hear? There's a new S3 class called DIGNITY. DY for short. I can just imagine the motto already: DIY with DY- Do It Yourself with DIGNITY! \o/ Hahaha, not funny, no? Ah well. Till next year then..

Yessss every Wednesday we now have an hour-long combined recess (upper + lower sec) where the canteen will be jam-packed! And now the handphone rule has been changed. (Only usable in lobby/canteen, no where else yes not even outside dance rooms.. ridiculous! But if you get caught, the next day your parents can come and help claim it back already. Repeated offence then I think a few weeks? I can't remember heh :P)

EXACTLY! Haha we were supposed to have done it after your Os! But oh well okay hope we will remember it this time :)
