Mad Girl's Love Song
Nov. 14th, 2009 02:01 pmI shut my eyes and all the world drops dead;
I lift my lids and all is born again.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)
The stars go waltzing out in blue and red,
And arbitrary blackness gallops in:
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.
I dreamed that you bewitched me into bed
And sung me moon-struck, kissed me quite insane.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)
God topples from the sky, hell's fires fade:
Exit seraphim and Satan's men:
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.
I fancied you'd return the way you said,
But I grow old and I forget your name.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)
I should have loved a thunderbird instead;
At least when spring comes they roar back again.
I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)
Sylvia Plath
I couldn't quite get this poem out of my head for a couple of weeks. Neither could I stop listening to this album.

就決定了 我們要用微笑面對 就算惡夢包圍整個世界 請別走開 愛一直在 你身邊 I know :)

Date: 2009-11-15 03:04 am (UTC)I don't know a whole lot of Sylvia Plath but she is the kind of troubled and incredibly thoughtful poet that I really go for. The last poem that I read by her, I mean really read, was "Daddy" and it explained a huge part of why she was so depressed.
I still can't get over how happy Crowd Lu makes me. Someday maybe I will understand all of his words instead of phrases here and there.

Date: 2009-11-15 09:55 am (UTC)Ah I see. Yes, it is really quite hard to find other people who likes Chinese Indie as well, so much so you feel a bond with finally, someone else who does. How did you get into Chinese Indie?
"Daddy" Hmm okay, noting down that. I shall read it once my examinations are over. :) I'm quite interested in the works of a poet named Richard Siken as well. But, that's about all the poets I know, excluding the traditional Robert Frost and Maya Angelou, of course.
Haha yes, his songs have that cheerful, the-sun-is-shining tinge, don't they. It helps that he is such a lovable dork as well. Have you watched this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coqpyFC3vIg) video of him dancing? It's sure to put a smile on your face. :) And I'm sure, you will, one day. Just keep on learning ;)
