There is only about one hour left of 2008. It has been a heck of a ride.

2008 was a year of drifting for me. I felt myself being swept along by the current of events along the way. Right at the start: new school, new friends, new subjects, new uniforms, new CCA, new timetables and basically, an entirely different studying environment. It was alot of novel things to face at one go but over time, I grew accustomed to NJ and thankfully, I got to know honeybunches of crazy, cool friends. And perhaps, it was the spirit of gunghoness and carpediem that led me to sign up for all sorts of activities at the start of the year. Spark, Chingay, Surf & Sweat, Genshiken, Council, other forgotten activities and I practically said okay to every outing and dinner there was. Eventually, I wisened up and learnt to spare myself some breathing time. Then, Project Work, Common Tests, homework and ad-hocs came whizzing at my head. I barely managed to keep my head above those reeking roiling waters then. But, somehow, some way, things eased up, school ended and then it was full-speed-ahead for trainings. :D

This year, three groups of people have been integral to my life. First up, 08S11, my very lovely, quietly-overachieving class. Hiccurping (hiccup+burp) Dilys, speaking in codes and nicknames with Grace, auntie Mylene, curlycurly-loving Melinda :D, squealy Audrey, bully of Dilys Yuhui hehe, cutie pie Cheryl Heng, fingerband-wearing Geraldine, mrs spongebob Qiao Wei, Domo-kun lover Clarice, giggly Jie Ling, yaoi loving Hian Kek hehe!, caps-loving Fangtian, handsalwaysmoving Szewai, Jocelyn the wabbit, chem partner Nara, nail-clipping Min Li, =D Cheryl Tay, act-gangsta Elvin, always-bagless North, secretly-hairclip-loving Luther, head-nodding Rong Sheng, yeah, that's pretty much most of us. Hope I didn't miss out any haha. Anyway, thanks to them, every school day has been a barrel of laughs and a trampoline of fun.

The next, soccer girls. I cannot imagine a week without seeing them, especially after these two months. We've all put in so much effort, hours and hours and hours every week, and now, we must have faith that they will come to fruition. But whatever the outcome is, life has been truly wonderful with you funfunny people.

And lastly, Council, especially Ideas, Terra, TDC and a few others. Saikang has never been more fun and enriching haha.

As you can see, I am running out of patience and things to say. One thing that would really define 2008 would be the discovery of Chinese indie. Thanks to livejournal, eMule and other sites, I managed to find really awesome gems, like 張懸, 雀斑, 盧廣仲, 卡奇社, 旅行团, 牛奶@咖啡, goodmorningloria and Sodagreen. There are many others as well, but I am sure this is boring you already heh.

Because it is hard to encapsulate the essence of a year lived in short paragraphs, I shall stop attempting to do so. After all, I have over 120 posts to fall back on, should my memory malfunction at some point. Besides, facing forward should be the way to go from here on. Resolutions: #1 actually do homework and study, damnit; #2 stick to my guns and articulate; #3 believe in belief. Ten minutes before the grand old dame is out the door. Till another time then, and have a happy new year! :)
