"the spinning thing" "spin what?"
Jan. 19th, 2008 03:13 pmAnd I'm back online again, hello. The week has passed so quickly. January is more than half-gone. There are rumours floating around saying that we would receive our results on Friday. Then there's the Monday and Thursday versions as well. Everyone's all in a tizzy. I can't be bothered yet, though. I just hope I do well enough to stay on, which, unfortunately, is an unlikely scenario, considering how much I slackened off in the last days of the exams. :/ But enough with the past long gone and on with the past just gone.
Tuesday is a haze- I can't really remember what happened. Ah! It was the day when we had 1 Math lecture and 4 free periods or something. It was also Mylene's birthday! Celebrated it with an ultra-mini cake, took pictures in the canteen before going for Math. Zomgoo, I nearly fell asleep. I had always liked Math in general because it was stimulating haha but Steven Lee really knows how to make things boring. :/ After all that sitting down, we went off to play captain's ball again! Full court zomgz, against another class and then there was friendly football too heh. Played from 10 to 12 and spent the next hour 'gossiping', which was mostly pressing people to confess their eye candy haha. Later, Mylene and I then waited till 3.30 for soccer! It was anti-climatic though. We did 2 rounds for warm-up then it started raining so in the end, we moved off to play the introduce-yourselves game at the canteen. I recognized Huang Zi because Wan Ping told me something about her and de-ionized water before haha. Apparently, they train twice a week, which surprised me because Tiffany has been scaring me with tales of her four-times-a-week-roll-in-the-mud-super-xiong trainings haha. Then again, she's at SA so yeah. As the rain didn't let up, we were dismissed at 5pm so I set off to find Genshiken. Damn it, soccer and Genshiken are both on Tuesdays. I really don't want to give up Genshiken because it's so fun. I'm in the cosplay section haha. So cool la. Pity nobody else shares my enthusiasm for GINTAMA (except CLARICE!) but I don't mind doing Bleach, even if it is so common, because I really want to try cosplaying. Heh. Geraldine's going as Suzumiya Haruhi for next Saturday's mini convention. I can't wait to go man. It will definitely be fun. So we hung around the school till 6 plus- waiting for Cindy to change into her maido costume and Geraldine to try hers and talking- before going home. Yeah so that's Tuesday.
Wednesday marked the start of real lessons. It was alright. Ended school at nearly 3 but ah, couldn't make it for the juniors' game because of the SPARK competition. Yes, that's right, I joined my first ever Science competition. It may have been an internal one, and that I signed up with my class, but it is still a watershed haha. Back in SC, I had always thought there were people much more intelligent than me to go for such things. But I was wrong!! If I just took the initiative, I can participate too. And that's what I've been doing more here. So anyway, while waiting for the competition to start, our class reverted to orientation mode and played games like Cat & Dog, Do You Love Your Neighbour and Tongkat hahaha. It was funny. Pretty soon, we had to take attendance and sit accordingly though. Fruit Bar, Fruit Bar TOO, Fruit Bar TREE, Fruit Bar FOR YOU HAHAHAHA. Not very imaginative but it tickles still haha. Anyway, Dilys and I were the B half of FBFY so we went off for the Solar Power talk before being set loose to construct a model, with a solar cell and motor, that can move. And to do that, we were given a styrofoam block, ice cream sticks, toothpicks and scotch-tape. WTF RIGHT! HOW TO CONSTRUCT!? Hahaha but what resulted was damn funny. From 4.40 to 5.50, we kept brainstorming on a contraption involving this donut wheel. There were many variations, the water wheel, the walker, the side fan, the wheel spokes, the double-sided wheel spokes but they all couldn't work. By 5.50, we were in despair so we gave up all the plausible-but-impractical ideas and reverted to our base of a fan and started decorating the ice cream sticks, in the hope of gaining points under Design & Creativity. And you know what, the fan actually WORKED HAHAHA so we pretty much wasted our time before that. We were so frantic some more, like ARGHHH WHAT TO DO, IT WON'T WORK ARGHH!! hahah and in the end, the simple fan worked. It actually moved 30cm, although it couldn't move the load. But needless to say, we were still taken aback but it was a pleasant surprise. We couldn't quite believe it haha. There was this damn smart J2 team which modelled theirs after a spinning top. It was really simple but ultra-effective. I want to be as smart as that! Hahaha. Met up with the rest of the class later and heard the Q&A questions were killer. But Mylene and Jie Ling still got 17 points, whoo! Went out for dinner at KAP after that. Laugh laugh, eat and came back home. Behold the 3 Fan Fury! (It worked when we took off the styrofoam things that we stuffed in at last minute to make the model more professional looking ahhaha)

I'm really lazy to type another further. Eh Thursday was morning soccer intro session! Whoo fun. I can't remember anymore hahaha.
Okay okay, very sian. I shall go off and catch up on all the anime I missed! Sayonara Zetsubou II, Clannad, Persona (RYOU IS DAMN KAKKOI!), Spice & Wolf and guilty pleasure: Gossip Girl hahaha. I will fulfil my promise to be hardworking tomorrow!
