horton hears a whoooo, hears a whuuuut
Mar. 15th, 2008 03:49 pmAnd well, damn it, it's Saturday. Ordinary school weeks seem to last so much longer than the holidays. I haven't accomplished anything much so far. Of tests and homework- who gives a hurtling heck so early on in the holidays? Then came Tuesday, then, Wednesday, then Thursday and well, you know the rest of the story. It has been one heck of a fun-filled week though. Exhausting as well. It gets tedious meeting up with people everyday- oh the searching of topics to discuss, the replies you should give, the shades of emotion that you should convey and so on. If you haven't already realised, I'm a walking censorship board. Everything that bounces around in my head needs to be put through a de-crazying, de-weirding, logifying filter to be fit for mass consumption. And lately, the filters have been overworked and undercleaned. It is tiring work indeed. Anyway,
That is a pretty apt summary of my week. Half of Monday was spent in school making the NE Video. Malaysia-Singapore water dispute, Indonesia-Singapore sand dispute. It was a crappy affair but crazy fun as well. We went shutter-crazy (urgh, I hate the word 'camwhore'. It makes one sound so cheap and crass. It's such a pretentious and self-conscious word to me as well. So with it, yo.), lame-crazy, laugh-crazy, massdance-crazy, breakingnews-crazy, propmaking-crazy, taglinebrainstorming-crazy, boy-crazy (cowboy was there too~~) and whoknowswhatelse-crazy. Alright, we didn't go crazy, I'm just a little crazy now. "Conserve water cos it ain't ours", "No sand, no land- we must conserve them". "Don't sell, then don't sell lah", "You wanna try some? I flush and give you", the perfection of the "char kway teow ah, chao guo tiao" song HAHA and other miscellaneous embarrassing things, no thanks to Dilys. Yup.
Tuesday was Teen Games day whoohoo, soccer carnival. 8 minute games, in a playing area 1/4 the size of the field, with 5 different teams, of which, we won one, drew one and lost three ha. For the experience, we say. Still, it's a little saddening to see the disparity of standards between us and SAJC. But we are fired up, we are ready to train harder, to put in whatever it takes to improve! And I believe that, seeing how we are all so enthusiastic about the game, that that would actually happen, and not fall flat like a broken, half-hearted promise. Hopefully. The conditions of the field was quite alright compared to Thursday's wet and muddy field. Squishy and damp, but yeah, that's good enough so no complaints. I'd still take NJ's synthetic field anytime man heh. It was over pretty quickly, sadly. Time flies when one is having fun, duh duh, cliche alert! But it was dang tiring. How am I ever going to survive full field play? Ah well. Defending is the position for me, for the moment. Goal keeping is great too but I doubt that I'm good enough. So anyway, after that, we went to Novena Square to have lunch. KFC YEAHH~! Played Uno after that and well, I laughed alot and had alot of fun with the rest.
Wednesday was Math lecture, Serene then Science Centre lecture heh. Math lecture was well, boring but the teacher was funny. Proceeded to Serene Centre after that with Dilys, Grace, Qiao Wei, Rong Sheng and Sze Wai. Stayed there from 11am to 2pm, doing nothing else but talking and eating. I like the people in my class a whole lot. :D Went home for a hurried wash-up before heading to Science Centre for the Embryonic Rsearch or something talk with Mylene and Audrey. It was interesting to say the least. Blatula, gastrula, neurula, Singapura haha. Ate even more at McDonalds with two of them plus new friend Nithia and talk mostly revolved around Audrey and her New Comer heh. Anyway, yup, that was Wednesday.
Thursday was Part II of Teen Games, where weplayed with the remaining 4 teams. Well, same old same old, except that the field was extremely wet, with mudpools and potholes all over. It was hard to run, hard to dribble, hard to pass, hard to everything but I guess that was where the fun was. You could kick the ball forcefully away and yet it'll skitter to a stop, in the middle of the puddle, and the funny thing was when everyone stopped simultaneously to look for it and adjust to its new position. Splish splash, splish splash. At first we were all "ew yuck, mud" but after the first game, we gave up caring and got dirty. Grace took it one step further than us, sliding around, diving for all the balls as goal keeper, without a grimace or complaint. She literally went for a mud spa haha. It started raining halfway so the games were halted. Won a chicken cutlet from Yi Tong after 'calculating' the weather and winning the bet. :D Went back to play one game before the games were called off again due to rain. Helped Grace wash up and basically spent alot of time in the washroom with Yi Tong and Jing Min haha. The whole thing was cancelled after that so we started washing up our muddy selves. Splashing around on the pavement, kicking water onto others to simulate a showerjet effect, kneeling on the ground to wash our legs and basically, being very lame in the rain. We took a long long time to clean up before heading out for lunch at Whitley Big Prawn Mee, where I had nice uh big prawn mee. Took the train home with Qiao Wen, Jing Min and Emily and it was yak-yak all the way with them. :D
After getting home, I took a hurried bath and left for JEC where 08S11 was ice-skating. Well, 1/3 of S11 that is. It is always the same few people who turn up at class outings haha. Headed to the arcade soon enough where we had tons of fun shooting hoops, shooting figures and shooting death glares at each other while racing haha. Spent about an hour there, we r losaaaarz. Then, we had a hard time dragging Jonathan into the neoprint booth haha. AHAHA THEN DILYS DID A REALLY STUPID & EMBARRASSING THING, but out of kindness, I'll not say anything. :D Dinner dinner was another boliao but fun affair heh. :D
Friday was supposedly another class outing but I overslept so I called Dilys to help me decide whether I should go anyway but that turned out to be a 90 minute phone conversation about nothing in particular. Hahaha, really. We can never remember what we were talking about just 5 minutes ago. Purecrack crap haha. Then it was reunion day with Grace, Jia En and Tiffany. Man, I miss them so much although I don't show it much heh. Headed to Carl's Junior to talk talk talk. Their lives are so much more interesting, seriously. My life is boring in comparison, or maybe it is just that I'd much rather listen to the lives of others than talk about my own. (Then what of this journal hurr) Anyway, off we went to catch Spiderwick Chronicles, which was not bad. Definitely more exciting than The Golden Compass for sure, although the ending was anti-climatic and the plot was well, cliched and well-tread. Went to Page One after the movie and arghhhh, I miss reading so so much.......... I don't know what to say anymore...
Yup, so that's that. I have tons of homework to complete but I don't really give a damn at the moment because there's still Enrichment Week to look forward to after the holidays. I feel bad about breaking the promise with Dilys and Cheryl to finish all homework by 3.43.19.23pm today. Oh well. Off to watch Honey & Clover now. The live-action version made me miss the anime and all its subtle poetry. So terra.
