And finally, finally, finally, it is the weekend again. It's funny to note how much I enjoy school-life, yet look forward eagerly for the precious two days of rest. Which, technically, isn't supposed to be rest but as always, lazybones elbow discipline out of the way. It has been a long and stressful week after all, what with TDC meeting till late at night, submission of EoM proposal the next day along with soccer pubstunt, Bio VA and the stinking swamp of homework I had to sludge through. Well, that's a normal JC1 life for you. Hectic, sleep-deprived but a whale of a time.
It would be an exaggeration to describe things as exciting! incredible! exhilarating! simply because it's not. I have come to realise that it's not the adrenaline-pumping, once-in-a-lifetime experiences that matter, it's all the little, oft-forgetten bits of strolling into lectures ten minutes late- and blissfully unrepentant, taking one-quarter of break to decide the dish of the day, the failed attempts to do work in the dim morning light while keeping a lookout for that familiar figure to stroll into school, the langorous ambles across the brick-red track on the long way home and so on. These things keep me sane, keep me happy, keep me me. That's not to say that life is tough though. Things have been fine, with mini-drama and inconsequential theatrics to keep days entertaining. For example, teasing Dilys about Coconut; Yuhui and I attacking Dilys on both sides with "hubba bubba baby~~" while relishing in her high-pitched, reallygrossedout "YUUUUCKSS!"; Grace and her sterling invention: "nin.. comp.. POOOOP!!" (the last is shot out with a tremendous amount of force and saliva); sitting with Grace and Yuhui during Friday's Math & Chem lectures and Grace's "I don't want to talk to you" in her trademark tone and jerky arm movements and blowing our fringes up and tryingnottolookembarrassed and the sly peeks directed to the south-west direction and the subsequent disgust with Pineapple; pinching cutecutiepie's cheeks and her half-shocked, half-amused expression; being the receiving end of Mylene's rambles haha; conversations with Melinda which often ends in "uhh.. how did we get here?"/"uhh i don't know what you mean but uhh.."/"uhh.. huh? i don't get it but it's funny", a shrug of the shoulders, a quirk of an eyebrow and a hearty bout of laughter plus plus plus. And that's only for S11. Soccer people are always a hoot, especially during the challenges&taunts&bickering with Leena, saying/doing something very random to Emily and bursting out in racous laughter afterward ie Maybelline pout, Shiyun and her outofthisworld one-liners which often leaves one somewhat exasperated, Sihui and her unbeatable enthusiasm and so on, so on. Life is great with these people.
So here goes a quick (unnecessary) summary of my week.. Monday: TDC meeting until 9.30pm and ended with us cleaning up cat pee haha. Then it was a mad rush to start EoM. Bad day. Tuesday: Soccer pubstunt was the first thing in the morning. I was kinda nerve-wracked, especially during the first part when Mylene and I jumped out smiling and bobbing spastically to.. silence. But heck man, we carried out and people laughed towards the end so it wasn't an absolute loss of face. Hopefully. Then, training, which was depressing. There's so much I have to work on. So many things, so little time rawwarhghghh. Wednesday: A somewhat unremarkable day. Oh yeah, there was the 90 minute gabfest with Mylene, Grace and Dilys after CAAL and after that, 3 hours of homework in SL. Productive yeah, but I undid all the good by falling asleep at 10pm hurr. Thursday: A pretty good day. Curlycurly is nice. Chem lesson ended early but Mylene managed to splash some alkali on her eye hahaha that clumsy girl. Then PW lecture when I dosed off. And Chem consolidation when I faded in and out of consciousness again. Then soccer challenge shield, which was inspiring to watch. Then time to kick some balls haha. Then, a 90 minute phone call to Dilys to ask a question that had a reply of 2 lines. Hmm. She had the fortune to meet the auntie, the flippant, the lustful, the Italiano, the Brit and the French though HAHA. Friday: Well yesterday was chockful of Cinderella sightings. Which made me happy of course, but I wonder what's the point of such infatuations? Nothing is going to come out of it so why waste the energy to care? Sure, it makes the days more interesting but there are better things to devote my attention to. Yet, however pointless it is, I can't help but feel like killing Dilys yesterday hahaha. Shiyun too haha. Anyway, Friday was the brain-frying BCME tutorial day. Add Math consolidation and Chem make-up to that and do you feel my pain??! Hahaha but I'm motivated to work harder for Chem now. Mrs Kong is a great teacher and I don't wish to let her down. Math is a different matter altogether though. Anyway, the finals of the soccer thinggum which was hella cool. I wanna play like that. Good view, yeah, and Leena kept trying to one-up me. Ha. Some game play, then some imaginary Dilys-throttling, then some PW at KAP then home. Ahhhhhh. That sort of wraps up the week.
Today was a slack day. Nice change of pace. Lesson in the morning, random ramblings with Mylene, Jaslin and Ziyi in the afternoon and we took about 3 hours to buy $20 worth of sweets and snacks at Turf City. It was a funny, lazy day. The Caucasian baby was so adorable! And the bus journey home was just right- half-filled (ha i'm an optimist) seats, grey clouds, little traffic and enveloped by soft squishy bags, which made me feel safe. It was good to have some time to think about stuff- I still can't get myself to like you but I accept the way you are. You betcha, I'm gonna tolerate you or die (of a heart attack) trying- but of course, fate had to bite me in the ass as I overslept and missed my stop. Ah well. Life's like that. I talk too much. Till another time then.
