his hair is way unha
Aug. 5th, 2008 07:25 pmFor the first time in two weeks, I am home before 6pm. It's a wonderful feeling to have the sun blazing down in your face, to see clear-cut shadows upon scaly cracked leaves, to hear the daytime bustle of noisy nosy aunties and primary school students in white strap-on Bata shoes, to have the day in front you, full of unfull-filled promise. Of things you can do, of things you can say, of things you can watch. That's what I have been lacking recently. The school-week has been one long string of events!&thingstodo!&obligations!&homeworkchasing!. Panic to the n factorial. (!) But the week has been rather great, to admit the truth. Here's why:
If I can recall correctly, last Monday was painting the class shoe for the NDC celebrations. Cue the appearance of Mini Michaelangelo in the form of Cheryl Heng and her choice of medium? Paint-splattered hands, not unlike pudgy toddler hands in painting class. Hugely adorable HAHA. :) The shoe turned out surprisingly pretty, yeah. And it was one thing off our minds so hurray.
Tuesday was PW and Painting day, which went fine. Melinda drew the skyline and I uh watched and uh gave constructive feedback yeah. Then we laughed at curlycurly on the way home. HAHA. Wednesday was painting day. Mini Michaelangelo was summoned to help once again, this time, in the form of rainbow cubes of windows. Melinda paints pretty coconut trees. And I faked artistic inclinations by dappling leaves green in a messy cool way, which turned out reasonably well heh. Thursday was forgettable and Friday was Rock Night.
Rock Night, for the lack of a better description, ROCKED. Most of the bands who played were awesome and even the bands that weren't, they were good to a degree. One Hot Minute, Captain Caleb & the Love Machine, The Good Friday, 3.45, Band of Teachers and a couple whose names I couldn't catch. Every band had someone/somebody noteworthy to talk about so it was huge fun dissecting it/them with Dilys, Grace, Mylene, Yuhui and Qiaowei. We pretty much went nuts- went legumes, sprouts & all- over the mat rocker with uber-cool spiky hair (a la the lead in Koizora), effortless charisma and stylish way of playing the electric guitar. PLUS, he can sing. I never realised what a nice song Stop and Stare was hehe. So we gushed and gushed effusively. With the exception of Dilys, who was utterly smitten by her BSG (or Big Sexy Giant, according to her HAHAHAHA). It was hiiiiilarious to see her go breathlessly crazy over him "he'sseriouslythecutestguyIeversawinmylife!!" HAHAHAHA. There was a guitar god in the form of the guitarist in BOT as well. He's. Damn. Good. And that's an understatement. The face-off between him and cool cute rocker in the last item as a combined band was whoaaaaaaaah. I could have watched it go on forever. Rock Night was certainly worth the money and time man. One of the greatest fun I had in a while.
It was time to return to Earth the next day, however. TDC souvenir making in the morning and Terra backdrop painting in the afternoon. I'm so proud of the backdrop though. It looks totally different from the bareboned outline that Melinda drew on Tuesday. Painting the sky, what with the blending and all, was a tiring but fun task. Zi Yi and I are going to be head-hunted for the Art Club man haha. Along with Melinda, Cheryl Heng and other people who helped in the painting. It's that nice. To me, at least. And Saturday didn't end there. There was 蘇打綠 in the evening. :)
And 蘇打綠 was WONDERFUL. 太赞了,太动人了,太棒了,太好玩了! Forgive my limited Chinese vocabulary, but it was that great. I had a crazy amount of fun. Went with Yi Le, Yu Fei, Qiu Hong and his friend, whose name I could not remember. I like Qiu Hong, she's a real nice soul. :D Anyway, whoots, the concert was so high! Kept prancing around during the fast numbers and ahhh, his voice is too beautiful. Especially during the slow songs. So clear and full of emotions. The stage banter was really funny as well. Everything just flowed. It was a day of good fun and good music. :)
And finally, yesterday. It was mostly a wasted day. But leave-tearing, trying-to-make-each-other-laugh and otherandomcrap made it worthwhile. It's funny how Melinda and I scream and hide at the sight of curlycurly now HAHA. Especially since that incident, the subsequent embarassment haha. He's so scary laaa HAHA. So is the thought of promos, arghhhh.
Now, that was an awkward transition. But I have spent long enough on this entry. Today, Grace and I came up with 3 more codenames: Loyfatt, Wobbles and Tadaha. TADAHAHAHAHA. I can hardly keep track of how many we have now haha. Man, we have too much time on our hands. Here's to wasting more, till then.
