Valentine's Day is finally over- balding flowers, foam hearts and viscous chocolate, be damned. I am not going to miss the harried days, the rushing about and the near-heartattacks. But as always, there were S11 people (gnomes with silverwing tunics!) and soccer girls (+funnynewjuniors!) to brighten the day. And the desperate hardsell to reluctant buyers, and the fending off of cheapskate aunties, and uh other random stuff that seemed hilarious because nothing else was, and the receiving of notes&flowers&presents that made all the difference. Thank you, thank you. Here, I must give an especially big shout-out to my secret Valentine. It may be too early to celebrate but hey Ideas, I think we managed to pull it off somehow.

It will be a long week ahead.

I am swimming in a cesspool full of homework, retests, position papers, proposals and the like but no, I don't care if the gunk that cakes me is hard to scrub off, I don't care if the stench lingers for weeks to come, I don't care if my favourite fuss-free black watch sinks into the murky depths. All I want is that things return to what they were a month ago, a week ago, a today ago. Do things really have to be so hard? Maybe it is because I am weak, mind like jelly, crumbling into flaccid bits at the slightest prod. Maybe it is because I am moodswingy, feelings like jelly, wobbling and splattering into rainbow goo inyerfaces. I wish I wasn't such a bonehead at these kind of things. It is pathetic to wring hands helplessly and bumble around awkwardly at 18. Note to self: stop being so detached and ego-centric and start behaving like a friend, damnit.

But, there has to be another side. Didn't GP teach us that? There has to be a reason behind all the struggles, there has to be an explanation why this coincides with Obama's inauguration, there has to. What is the point of all these otherwise? The investments of feelings, time and thought, I hope it's not for naught. Yes Pecan, Yes We Can, recycled leftovers of Obamania. Strength in unity, comradeship among hardship, speculations of Budget 2009. See, even the gahmen is saying so. Please change your mind, you you you.
