take a bow

My sleeping habits are inverted and I am a fullfledged nocturnal being now. But of all the hours in the early morning, none were devoted to studying, unfortunately. Instead, the time was spent on youtube, youtube and more youtube. From Yoona's Family Outing, to SNSD, to CL and Minji of 2NE1, to After School, to 2PM's Idol Show with Shinee, to 2PM performances, to Shinee's music videos, to more Family Outing, to Super Junior, to Popseoul. Everything and anything, except GPCRs and RTKs. I really can't express the amount of loathing I have for myself now. It was a fun twelve hours, of course, filled with squeals and laughter. But, what is the purpose of all that? Man, I need to get my head in the game, pronto. It doesn't help that I have been cooped up at home all week. Something has to give.

[edit] Loved it.

I stumbled across this while bloghopping(herbonestructure.xanga.com):

Facts About The Moon (excerpt)
Dorianne Laux

Forget us. We don't deserve the moon.
Maybe we once did but not now
after all we've done. These nights
I harbor a secret pity for the moon, rolling
around alone in space without
her milky planet, her only love, a mother
who's lost a child, a bad child,
or a greedy child or maybe a grown boy
who's murdered and raped, a mother
who can't help it, she loves that boy
anyway, and in spite of herself
she misses him, and if you sit beside her
on the padded hospital bench
outside the door to his room you can't not
take her hand, listen to her while she
weeps, telling you how sweet he was,
how blue his eyes, and you know she's only
romanticizing, that she's conveniently
forgotten the bruises and booze,
the stolen car, the day he ripped
the phones from the walls, and you want
to slap her back to sanity, remind her
of the truth: he was a leech, a fuckup,
a little shit, and you almost do
until she lifts her pale puffy face, her eyes
two craters, and then you can't help it
either, you know love when you see it,
you can feel its lunar strength, its brutal pull.

Yes, this entry is highly disjointed. But I am tired, tired of trying so hard, tired of asking and badgering, tired of being clueless. From now on, I'm going to let things slide and focus on the important things that I had neglected. (read: bcme!) Maybe I should do a Dwayne Hoover. And right, work, work, work!

So it has been another week, and this was how it has been: losing my phone, vegetating in the house for two days, sneaking out to Tiffany's on Friday, Bare Your Sole on Saturday with plenty of laughs and waistpokes, vegetating for another day, sushi with S11 on Monday, soccer gathering on Tuesday afternoon, council barbeque that night, and vegetating for another two days (today). Ah, the wondrous joy of holidays, never mind the impending CTs. In this one week, I became a year older as well. I am really appreciative of all the text messages, wall posts, complaint call haha, birthday call, thoughtful presents and pretty letters. It was a happy birthday indeed. Much love to the kind people who took time out to accompany me on that day. :)

And with that, I should start treating my addiction to the Internet and other distractions to buckle down and study. "TIMING IS NOW~" as Jaesuk taught Jang Hyuk in Family Outing haha. I want to be someone whom I can be proud of. Whoosh! Till another time.

The weekend has been wonderful; the weekday (today) has been less so, but no matter, it is always best to dwell on what makes you happy, right? So, yesterday was uh, Girls' Day Out with my favourite people. :) Everyone was spiffed up and that was a refreshing change from fbts and long luminous socks that we used to see so often. But the attitudes remained the same, and we took our time to lag around town, as per normal haha. On a rash impulse, we headed for ice-cream at Azabu Sato and Double Berry was very berry good! Stomachs satisfied, we then trudged to Cine for some KBox-lovin' babeh~ It has been too long since my last time there. What can I say, 'cept fun away from the sun. :) Dinner was at HK Cafe and after that, funny attempts at cab-flagging by fun friends. Teehee, bottomline: it was a great day and I really love this group of nuts!

Also during the weekend: soccer on Saturday morning and more floating around in cyberspace. I managed to watch two movies- Charlie Bartlett and Frost/Nixon. The former was amusing and absorbing enough, with winning performances by the leads. And who can argue against enjoying a feelgood youth culture film in the vein of Juno? Hehe the latter was much more riveting though. The pace was tight; the subject matter, thought-provoking; the acting, flawless. Nixon and Frost were compelling to watch, because of the subtle hints at their psyches with every expression. I really liked it: it kept me in suspense and had me tsking and criticizing along with the characters aha. It was fun. :)
