Because I am incrementally more eloquent in 160 characters (and when exemplification is optional, which beggars the question how solid these claims really are. #technicalities I shall ignore because it is making the bracketed text unnecessarily long #typing after hexes is fun #i like to imitate my favourite tumblr reads #friday is P&R spammage night! #fun fun fun fun #my pitiful life as a fan with no self-control #you probably stopped reading two lines ago #you should have):

I talk to myself in the head sometimes, saying a-yoooo, galileoooo )

I am so much more active on livejournal when examinations are three days' away. #PROVEN FACT. (#using hexes wrongly again but i don't care-eh-eh-eh-eh-eh) Food for thought in the holidays, this is preparation. I really ought to starve myself of internets-time then. Goodbye. Parks and Recreation was wonderful as always. Tom Haverford was an outright A+. Leslie/Ben made my have cheekcramps from squealing and smiling too much What else is new? Oh right, THREE MORE DAYS' TO FIVE PAPERS, GODDAMNIT.

I haven't felt this way about a song in a long time. It is hypnotising, to say the least; you are persuaded to close your eyes, shutter your consciousness, and just surf the undulating waves of violin notes. And then, swim desperately against the crushing torrents, with the frenetic staccato of drumbeats matching your thrashings stroke for stroke. When that is done, howl piteously over and over again for the lives that are slipping away every second. If it were a windows media player background, it would be the crazy, giddy one, with blinding neon lights exploding all over the screen. I love that the production values are so high; you can just about hear the pristine guitar strums cutting through flesh, exfoliating your cochlea or some esoteric scientific term for ears that sound nicer than "ears", and sweeping the worries away. Then, a sudden black wall of silence, before the rousing crescendo builds up once again, only to be gradually dissipated through rhythmic strumming once again. March on, blind and addled, among the avenues of zombies and the final survivors. Oh, the tragicomedy of a humdrum middle class existence. Argh, there emerges the self-centred side again. I never do learn huh.

"The most important things are the hardest things to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them - words shrink things that seemed limitless when they were in your head to no more than living size when they’re brought out. But it’s more than that, isn’t it? The most important things lie too close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you’ve said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while you were saying it. That’s the worst, I think. When the secret stays locked within not for want of a teller, but for want of an understanding ear." - Stephen King

Now, this is more my style, ain't it?

After two excruciating weeks, Parks and Recreation was finally back in my life. And just about squeezed my heart dry of rainbows, saccharine smiles and sparkly things that happiness is made of. It is hard to find a show that is so overwhelmingly earnest and heartwarming. As I read in a review elsewhere, what sets Parks apart is the multitude of nice characters on the show. Absent are snarky quips and cynical snubs, which readily pervade other sitcoms and seem to be a sure-fire formula for generating self-conscious laughs. The characters aren't firing off backhanded insults at a rattling speed; instead, the slow-boil of the interactions accentuates the essence of friendships, relationships and other ships. Every episode allows us a longer glimpse of a certain character's quirks, habits and philosophies. The best part is that the characters learn from past experiences and evolve, instead of getting stuck in a stereotyping rut. Except for Jerry, but well, he asks for it most of the time. Haha. Basically, Parks is a show that shoots sunshine out its ass (hehe Juno) and plasters a unbearably huge grin on my face every single time. So hurray for that. Got to get back to settling SEP stuff, and oh, finals. Right. Bummer.

Leslie/Ben, rawraghhh!! <3

Thursday was a perfect day, or the most fun that I have had this semester. It all hinged upon a noncommittal whim, upon we, stressed out about the impending finals, jumped aboard quickly and firmly. And thus, sojourning to Tanah Merah, to feel the sand beneath our feet with the waves lapping at our toes and the wind tussling with our hair and the sea-salt breeze wafting through and invigorating our every organ, was a done deal within five minutes. Even if it meant getting only two hours' of sleep and waking up at 7am and an hour-long train ride, it was worth it many times over, for both the tranquility and marvelous company. Below the cut are some snapshots. )
